New book

Within a few weeks, copies of my third book (and latest collaboration with Douglas Gray) should be available for purchase. The Canadian Landlord's Guide: Expert Advice to Become a Profitable Real Estate Investor (Wiley, 2009) is a reference for apartment owners from homeowners renting a basement suite to multifamily and commercial property owners.

Hectic hiatus

The year has slipped by with very few posts, and that's because my hands have been full with a variety of projects, including a book on landlording in Canada in collaboration with Doug Gray, with whom I co-authored Real Estate Investing for Canadians for Dummies a couple of years ago. Throw in the usual projects for BC Business and Vendor magazines, as well as new duties as Northwest correspondent for Wines and Vines, and there's been more than enough writing to keep me from this space.

The editor at Canadian Real Estate Magazine visited this site, however (you can find my work for that publication in the October and November 2008 issues), so with some luck I'll try to be more diligent about posting here in the future.

On the other hand, maybe I'll revamp my whole Web presence into something more formal!
